All of our Dwarf Mondo Grasses are grown in Polystyrene Trays.

When you order our Dwarf Mondo Grass Trays we simply remove the four sides of the Tray and cut off the base. What you are left with is a rectangular mass of grass which can be cut into strips, planted en-masse or broken up into clumps. Bulk Buys reduce the price considerably. Ask us for a Bulk price.

HOW MANY PLANTS DO I NEED?

Borders

(For Borders, most clients work on 30 to 40 plants per lineal metre)

If your border measures 10 lineal metres, and you decided on 30 plants per lineal metre, you would require:
10 metres x 30 plants = 300 plants = $196.00 including postage

If you decided on 40 plants per lineal metre you would require:
10 metres x 40 plants = 400 plants = $258.00 including postage
(Based on 75mm width)

Pavers

(For Pavers, most clients work on 30 to 40 plants per lineal metre, based on a 75 mm gap between the pavers)

With pavers you need to add up the total length of all the rows in between the pavers.
Similarly, if the total length of all the rows came to 30 metres and you decided on 30 plants per lineal metre, you would require:
30 metres x 30 plants = 900 plants = $580.00 including postage

If you decided on 40 plants per lineal metre you would require:
30 metres x 40 plants = 1200 plants = $770.00 including postage
(Based on 75mm width)

If you happened to buy the Dwarf Mondo Trays you could then simply add the Dwarf Mondo Grass Strips into the gaps of your pavers

Mass Planting

(Dwarf Mondo Grass for Mass Planting in a Garden or for a Lawn, most clients work on 300 to 550 plants per Square Metre)

If your garden is 1 metre wide by 2 metre long = 2 square metres = 600 plants = $387.00 including postage

If your garden is 3 metre wide by 2 metre long = 6 square metres = 1800 plants = $1159.00 including postage.

WHAT IS DWARF MONDO?

Dwarf Mondo Grass, also known as Mini Mondo Grass, Miniature Mondo Grass and Dwarf Lilyturf is a species of Ophiopogon native to Japan and loved in Australia due to its Drought Resistance.

It is a hardy plant with shiny dark green leaves that will tolerate very dry conditions and is frost tolerant. You can grow Dwarf Mondo Grass in both Full Sun or Full Shade.

Dwarf Mondo is normally grown as an ornamental plant and makes an excellent ground cover. You will receive similar to the plants in the image at left.

Dwarf Mondo will flourish in full sun or shade; tolerate poor soils, over watering or over fertilizing. It multiplies rapidly to form a dense, dark green border. It also looks fabulous when planted en-masse.

If you are not a gardener then Dwarf Mondo Grass is the plant for you - Dwarf Mondo needs virtually no maintenance and will multiply quickly to form a beautiful garden border.

Dwarf Mondo grows to approximately 75mm (3") tall and makes a very trendy Landscape Grass as it can be planted around pavers, concrete tiles and slabs or in rockeries to soften the sometimes harsh appearance of these structures.

You will receive well established, mature sized, Dwarf Mondo Grass Plants, similar to those shown in the picture above.

They will be sent bare rooted, with a little soil, to keep postage costs down to a minimum. Your Dwarf Mondo will be ready to plant as soon as you receive them. Water your Mondo each day for a week or two after you have planted them.

They will thrive in a range of soils but to keep them looking their Dark Green / Shiny best, try to water them at least every three or four days during any really hot or dry periods.
